Read about some of the latest news, events, and programs in Lexington Two through the following update, emailed to Lexington Two Families and Staff on March 6, 2026, as part of the district's regular monthly updates.
We have fewer than 20 school days until spring break, and then just about 30 days when we return from break until the last day of school. Time has surely flown!
Our goal in this final stretch is to keep the focus on finishing the school year strong and ensuring that our students are prepared for their next chapters, whether that is moving on to the next grade level or graduating and moving on to college, career, or military.
With time short and many academic requirements ahead, there are several things you can do to help ensure that your child is prepared to get the most out of each remaining school day:
Regular attendance is a must to ensure that your child stays on track with understanding and building academic skills and knowledge. For high schoolers, the attendance requirement is key for graduation. Board Policy JH states: “In order to receive credit for a high school course, a student must attend at least 85 days or the equivalent (for a 90-day semester course) or 170 days or the equivalent (for a 180-day course) in order to receive credit. Credit will be denied if unlawful absences exceed three (3) in a semester course or five (5) in a year-long course. The board may grant approval of excessive absences in accordance with board policy.”
Ensure that your child is practicing healthy habits, including getting adequate sleep, minimizing screen time, getting fresh air and exercise, and eating well (including free breakfast and lunch for every student in Lexington Two schools).
Offer support where you can, whether that’s reading aloud together, proofing a writing assignment, or promoting positivity and confidence. If you’d like your child to have extra academic practice outside the classroom and extra help sessions in school, remember that Varsity Tutors offers free on demand 24/7 chat tutoring, self-study resources like recorded content, practice problems, adaptive diagnostic tests, and much more.
Our school teachers, staff, and administrators are here to do whatever it takes to support your child throughout the year. Please reach out anytime.

Uniform scheduling for high schools: We recently sent an email communication to middle and high school families about the new uniform high school bell schedule for Airport High School and Brookland-Cayce High School. This new schedule will offer students more flexibility to meet their own scheduling and academic needs, increased access to Innovation Center-based college and career programs, as well as an anticipated expansion of higher level classes at the two high schools, such as more AP courses. Here’s a link to the email.
Early College/Dual Enrollment Application Deadline: The deadline to apply for the Early College/Dual Enrollment programs for the 2026-2027 school year is March 20. Get information about the programs on the Lexington Two Innovation Center website. Other questions? Email tiffany@lex2.org.
School Climate Survey now open: Each year, parents/legal guardians are asked to complete a formal School Climate survey that relates to the SC Department of Education’s annual school report card. This survey gives us a quick look at how we're doing at providing a welcoming school environment and fostering a positive school climate at your child’s school. The survey is open through April 17.
