School Safety

Everyone plays a role in keeping our schools safe. Talk with your children about the  importance of being aware of their surroundings and of reporting any unusual or threatening behaviors. Encourage them to share any concerns with school administrators, teachers, SROs or any other adult at the school. Please check your children’s social media presence, and again speak with them about reporting anything they see that might be unusual or threatening.

Job Shadow Day ~ Wed. February 28th

During the month of February thousands of U.S. workers will see shadows as they provide opportunities for young people across America to "shadow" them for a day. Job shadowing enables kids to get an up-close look at what a "real job" is like and how the skills they learn in school can be put into action.

Principal's Message

Thank you for visiting our webpage! We are excited about the opportunities that we provide our students, especially when it comes to the arts! We have a comprehensive arts program that includes: Band, Chorus, Dance, Drama, Strings, and Visual Art. Seventh and Eighth grade students can audition to be a part of our Performing Arts Company. This helps us meet our vision for our school:

Through arts integration and a shared responsibility in learning, the students of Cyril B. Busbee Creative Arts Academy will become well-rounded citizens who are creatively thinking, technologically advanced, and self-advocating.

We aren't just a fine arts school though, we also provide outstanding academic and athletic programs. We deliberately provide a built in time daily for intervention and enrichment. Our athletic teams do well also including championships in football and basketball. Our C-Team Football just finished up an undefeated regular season!

If you would like more information about our school or Fine Arts Magnet program, please do not hesitate to reach out to me. We are happy to meet with prospective families and to provide tours. I can be reached at dbrooks@lex2.org.

Sincerely,
Dixon Brooks, Ph.D.
