Peter Wilkerson-  8th grade Social Studies and Boy’s Basketball Coach

Mr. Wilkerson is from Brunswick Georgia, and grew up on the beach. He graduated from Covenant College with a degree in History and coached college basketball for 4 years. His wife, Samantha, are from the same town, and we have one son (Amos) with a second boy on the way in October. Weird fact about Mr. Wilkerson- He was completely paralyzed for 3 months from a disorder called GBS.


Teresa Martin- 6th grade math

Ms. Martin been teaching In Orangeburg Consolidated School District 4 for 15 years; all of which have been in 6th grade math! Her and her husband together have 5 children and 5 grandchildren. She enjoys going to the beach, traveling to Tennessee to see her 2 grandson, baking cupcakes, and planning special events.  She has 2 fur babies, a Yorkie - "Remy" and a German short- haired Pointer "Sadie." She is very excited to be apart of "The Academy" family and looks forward to a wonderful year!


Shirley Bell- Drama


 When not writing and/or directing plays, Ms. Bell enjoys gardening, playing with her dogs,solving sudoku puzzles, and baking her scrumptious,homemade lemon pound cake. She especially enjoys relaxing on the front porch!







 Amber Lambert- Career Development Facilitator

 Amber Lambert is a native of Columbia, SC. She is married with 3 children, ages 15, 13 and 10. She received her BA in English from South Carolina State University and a Master of Arts from Webster University. Ms. Lambert has spent the last couple of years in career development and is excited to be the Career Development Facilitator!  In her spare time she likes to read, run 5ks and spend time with her family. The beach is her favorite place to relax and chocolate candy is her favorite food.



Ms. Lauren Letellier-Hennessy- 6th grade Math and Science

Ms. Hennessy has been teaching for two years and this is her first year at Busbee.  She is originally from Minnesota, but has been living in the Carolina's for the past 13 years.  She graduated from Winthrop University in the Spring of 2017 with her Bachelors Degree in Middle Level Education with concentrations in math and science.  In her spare time she enjoys hiking, traveling, and spending time with her dog Cooper!




Ms. Hannah Price- Dance

Ms. Hannah Price grew up in Greenville, SC where she started dancing at a very early age. Her passion for dance followed her through high school and she realized she wanted to be a dance teacher to pass on her love for dance. She attended Winthrop University as a Dance Education major and now is looking forward to her first year teaching here at The Academy. She is excited to be here and to continue the wonderful dance program The Academy has already begun.
