Burriss announced as Busbee's new assistant principal

WEST COLUMBIA, SC – A familiar face has been selected as the new assistant principal at Busbee Creative Arts Academy.


On Tuesday, October 24, 2023, the Lexington Two Board of Trustees approved Rebecca Burriss for the position, joining Principal Sam Masone.


Burriss has been at Busbee since 2019, most recently serving as an English Language Arts teacher and Administrative Assistant. She started her education career in Orangeburg County as an English teacher at Branchville High School before joining Lexington Two.


Burriss received a bachelor’s degree in secondary education (English) from Clemson University and master’s degrees in curriculum and instruction from Claflin University and educational administration and leadership from Columbia College.


She begins her new role immediately.
