Welcome to Academy Theatre 2023-2024!
Greetings! My name is Shirley Mack-Bell. I am honored to serve as the theatre teacher at the Academy for a sixth year. As a theatre educator, I strive to build a theatre program where students demonstrate an appreciation for the performing arts - while being mindful of social skills that promote equity, diversity, and inclusion.
After 28 years as an IT Consultant at the State Department of Education, I retired to continue my education. I earned a Bachelor's of Arts in Theatre from the University of South Carolina and a Master's of Arts in Teaching from the University of South Carolina. During my leisure time, I enjoy sitting on the porch while reading a book, playing with my dog Barney, gardening, attending or participating in theatrical productions, or jumping in my vehicle for a solo road trip.
