Welcome to Visual Art at Busbee Creative Arts Academy!

Hi! I am Caryl Cathou. This will be year 12.5 teaching middle school Art and am excited to be teaching at Busbee Creative Arts Academy! 

 

I will be teaching quarter long 6th grade Art; one 7th grade semester of Art; one 7th grade, year long Honors Art; one 8th grade semester Art and a high school credit, Art I for 8th grade. 

 

I grew up in Cayce and attended Lexington Two schools (including the "original" Busbee Middle School!).

 

I studied and earned my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Painting and minored in Art History at Francis Marion University. After graduating from FMU, I worked as a receptionist at an oral surgery practice for several years until the calling came to go back to school to earn a degree in Art Education. I attended The University of South Carolina to earn my Masters of Art in Teaching Art Education. I also earned an endorsement through Coastal Carolina University in teaching gifted and talented students. 

 

I am so excited to come back "home" to Lexington Two and teach Art to the students of BCAA. Go Bulldogs!
