I'm excited to be back at The Academy! I have previously served as band director and assistant principal at Busbee Middle School before it was renamed Cyril B. Busbee Creative Arts Academy. I've also served Lexington School District Two as principal of Fulmer Middle School and Airport High School. Being back is also a great opportunity to now work with the children of those students I taught many years ago...well, not that many years ago! We have many exciting opportunities for our students, especially in the Magnet Arts Program. Our students can take classes in band, chorus, dance, drama, strings, and visual arts. We also offer archery, which is a hit with many of our students!
I believe that it takes a partnership between the school, parents, and students to help them learn all of the skills they will need to be productive citizens. My staff works hard each day to make a positive difference in our students lives! If you are interested in learning more about The Academy, we offer tours, will have Magnet Night on March 1st, and would love to hear from you!
If you have comments or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to me. We are serious about continuous improvement and providing our students a school where they can build confidence through their learning experiences, which leads to college and career skills!
