Our school is a 2018 National Beta Club School of Merit. (50 students inducted)
 
Our 2 Schools 1 Goal initiative allows our content teachers to plan and collaborate with teachers at Fulmer Middle School.
 
Our school won a Bright Ideas Grant through Mid-Carolina Electric Coop for 6th grade science.
 
The Academy has a partnership with South Carolina Governor’s for the Arts and Humanities and was provided professional development to incorporate arts into all classroom lessons.
 
The Academy received a Distinguished Arts Program Grant through the SDE in partnership with the SC Arts Commission for the 2017-2018 school year.
 
The Academy received the ABC Site Project Grant through the SDE in partnership with the SC Arts Commission for the 2015-2018 school years.
 
The 8th grade Performing Arts Company’s production of Elf, Jr was performed for over 850 people including 600 5th graders.
 
Members of the 7th & 8th grade Performing Arts Company went to New York to experience Broadway and to participate in a Broadway 101 workshop.
 
The 7th grade Performing Arts Company performed Doo Wop Wed-Widing Hood in the spring of 2018.
 
The popular Dessert Cabaret was a sellout! In addition to performers from Busbee, along with guest performers from Saluda River Academy for the Arts and Springdale Elementary, attendees were treated to a fabulous selection of sweets. The event was hosted by the 7th Grade PAC (Performing Arts Company).
 
“Best Team of 5+” Award for participation with WeReadSC in the Kinetic Derby Day Parade
Members of the Junior Beta Club, along with teachers, community volunteers and structural engineer Jesse Burke of Burke Engineering LLC, worked in partnership witWe Read SC on a University of South Carolina Cocky’s Reading Express float. The float joined in West Columbia’s first-ever Kinetic Derby Day parade.  

 

 The C-Team football team had an undefeated regular season and was runner-up in the Palmetto Athletic Conference Championship.
 
The Boy's basketball team made it to the semifinals in the PAC Conference Tournament.
 
The Archery Club competed in four tournaments and the SCNASP Regional Tournament.
 
The Academy had 17 Academic Archers.
 
Our 5th annual Cranium Quest had over 100 students in attendance. 
 
Ms. Beth Brooks was named Busbee’s 2018-2019 Teacher of the Year.
 
Dr. Brooks was elected as the President-Elect for the South Carolina Association of Middle Level Educators (SCAMLE).
