New, returning students can register now for 2019-20 school year

WEST COLUMBIA, SC -- Registration is open for new and returning students who will attend Lexington Two schools in the 2019-20 academic year.

Two proofs of residency and a photo ID are required for new and returning students to register for classes in Lexington Two public schools, which are in communities including Cayce, West Columbia, Springdale, Pine Ridge and South Congaree. The residency and photo ID requirements are similar across most Midlands public school districts.

The school registration process is now online, with links available on school websites and the district website, or by clicking here.  Anyone without a home computer should check with their schools about accessing one there.

Parents and legal guardians of returning students will need their child’s ID number to access the information on file for your student(s). If you cannot find the number, contact the child’s school for it.

Once online registration is completed for new and returning students, two proofs of residency and a photo ID will need to be presented in person at the school before the first day of school on Monday, August 19.

Only the documents listed below will be accepted as proofs of residency. Parents and legal guardians must show one proof of residency from each category below:

Category A

  • Tax receipt showing both property and dwelling are in Lexington School District Two
  • Mortgage receipt or bill, rental lease or agreement or a notarized letter from the landlord (must include the rental property address and the landlord/rental agency's contact address and phone number)

Category B

  • Cable television bill
  • Telephone bill
  • Gas/electric bill
  • Water/Sewer bill
  • Official federal government documents

Bring the two proofs of residency to the school your child will be attending. For students who will be changing schools for the 2019-20 school year -- moving from 5th to 6th grade or 8th to 9th, for example -- take the proofs of residency to your new school.

Families who are currently on a Statement of Residence and/or State Affidavit must complete a new application and provide the necessary documentation by appointment at the Student Services Office, 114 Hook Ave., West Columbia.  Call (803) 739-3141 to make an appointment.
