8th Grade Guitar-S1 Assignments

We have completed our concert. YAY! Now it is time to fill out the reflection form. Please take the time to answer each question thoughtfully and fully. 

Good Morning.  As you are aware, I am not at school today.  Today you will be defining some key vocabulary terms.  Please access the Google Slide show below and type in the definition underneath each term. 

Good Morning.  Today you will complete a quiz for the notes on the fretboard.  This will be through musictheory.net.  You may take it as many times as you need to get the best score you can earn.  Once you are finished you may do the following:
1. Work on work for other classes.
2. Read Quietly
3. Put your head down to have some rest.
Once all quizzes are in then we will resume class as normal.

Good morning. If you are reading this then you are with another teacher during the PSAE Expedition. Please do the following:
1. Follow the link to the Google Form below.
2. Read the directions carefully and answer the questions in complete sentences where prompted.

Good morning!  I hope you are staying safe and well today.  You have two options for your work today.  If you have a guitar at home then you can earn credit by learning a small portion of the Angry Birds theme by Ari Pulkkinen. If you do not have a guitar at home now that is ok there is another option for you. 
1. Complete a listening journal.  
Remember, I am not here to count off points for grammar and spelling but I do ask for you to help me by writing so I can understand what you are communicating to me. 
2. If you choose to complete the Angry Birds tutorial your assignment that will prove you have gotten in there to do what you need to do, is to record yourself playing a bit of the tune.* (You will need to submit the video to this page.)
*Before you ask no, it does not have to be perfect.  No it does not have to be up to tempo. Should it be more than just a few strums on your instrument? Yes.  Also, you can do this on a violin but if you do not feel like it then that is ok, please feel free to complete the listening journal.

Good morning.  Today you will complete a test that is being facilitated by musictheory.net.  You may take the test as many times as you need to get the best score you can.  Once you have finished please send me the validation code using a private comment on this page. After you have done that you may do the following:
1. Read quietly
2. Work on work for other classes
3. Put your head down to have some rest. 
Once all assessments are in then we will continue with class.

Students will identify the notes on the staff which correlate to the notes found on the 5th and 6th strings.  This assessment is facilitated through musictheory.net. Students may take the quiz up to 4 times and I will take the best score out of the 4 attempts. After finishing the quiz students need to do the following:
1. Click on their high score.
2. Sign their name in the space next to the button marked, "Sign Report"
3. Click "Sign Report
4. Click either "Copy Code" or "Copy Link"
5. Students will then send the code or link to me in a private comment on this page. 
6. Click, "Mark as done"
After finishing their assignment students may do the following:
1. Read quietly
2. Work on work for other classes.
3. Put their head down and have a bit of rest.
4. Play on their chromebooks. (School approved games naturally.)

Los estudiantes identificarán las notas en el pentagrama que se correlacionan con las notas que se encuentran en las cuerdas 5 y 6. Esta evaluación se facilita a través de musictheory.net. 2. Identify as many notes as you can within the 3 minute time limit.
3. Click on your high score.
4. Click, "Sign Report"
5. Click "Copy Link" or "Copy Code"
6. Paste the code or link into a private comment on this page by using Ctrl+V.
7. Send me the code.
8. Mark the assignment as done.
