Dear Busbee Families,
What an honor it is to serve the students and community at Busbee. As the previous assistant principal and math teacher at Busbee, this school holds a special place in my heart. I have taught many students and siblings and some of their children are now students at Busbee. You can only imagine how exciting this is for me! We even have former students who are now teachers at The Academy. .
At The Academy, we provide many learning opportunities. Our Arts Magnet program gives students options to explore band, chorus, dance, drama, strings, guitar, visual arts, and this year Creative Writing in 6th grade. The Honors Art class and the Performing Arts Company in grades 7 & 8 (PAC) are opportunities for students to specialize as a year-long major in art, dance, drama, or chorus. Some other opportunities for students include participating on the Archery Team, Student Council, Jr. Beta Club, Students Leading Education (SLED), and our sports teams. We look forward to sending our 6th grade students on an overnight trip to Camp Leopold in October and offering many more field trip experiences for our students to broaden their horizons!
