Mrs. James Language Arts-2017-2018

We will use Direct Instruction along with a variety of reading comprehension passages to work on reading skills. We will work on decoding words, building vocabulary, making inferences, identifying main idea with supporting details, using context clues for words that we do not know, and many other comprehension skills. We will build our stamina for reading by reading independently in class and at home. We will also work on developing our written expression by writing to prompts and free writing, in-order to build our stamina for writing.
